When are kids ready for braces?
Most children are ready for braces between 9-13 years old, or after most of their permanent teeth have come in. Your orthodontist may recommend early treatment around 6-7 years old for some patients. However, this is mainly for cases where more complicated or painful dental issues are developing. You can track your child’s development for free by joining Pup Club.
How long will my child wear braces?
Most treatments last around 18-24 months. It could be quicker, depending on your specific needs. The best way to speed your treatment along is by following your doctor’s instructions and taking care of your braces.
Can adults get braces?
Yes! It’s never too late to have a more confident smile. We offer free consultations. Treatment options like uLab or Invisalign aligners are perfect for patients who want a discreet solution.
How do I care for braces?
Your doctor will give you detailed instructions on how to care for your braces or retainer. In general, you should avoid extremely sticky, chewy, or hard foods. Regular brushing, flossing, and dental checkups are also key to maintaining your braces and overall dental health.
What do I do if something breaks or I have an emergency?
If part of your braces break or you have an emergency, like an injury or a severe equipment failure, call our office immediately. We will bring you in as soon as possible to repair your braces. In the meantime, you can treat any injuries or sore spots with things like swishing salt water, low doses of painkillers, or covering exposed wires with wax. Make sure to hang onto any broken pieces of your equipment.
